Over the last 9 years, Fujitsu has been proud to be developing the next generation of Australia and New Zealand’s talented young professionals through our comprehensive and immersive Graduate program. Each year we recruit a large number of outstanding graduates to introduce new ideas and innovative thinking into Fujitsu and lead us into the future.
Why should I choose to grow my career through Fujitsu’s Graduate Program? Fujitsu is a leading global information and communication technology company (ICT) company that supports customers in over 100 countries. Due to this global reach, there are a variety of opportunities to explore and find the best fit for you. Our Macquarie Park Headquarters have also been listed as one of the top 10 most impressive offices in the world, offering agile and inspiring work environments. Check out this video on YouTube below showcasing the day in the life of a Fujitsu Graduate.
What does the Fujitsu Graduate Program involve? The Fujitsu Graduate Program runs for 18 months, allowing recent university leavers to kick-start their career in their chosen field. Beginning in February 2020, graduates will receive hands-on-experience, working on real projects and taking responsibility and ownership of certain tasks, while being fully supported by their teams and managers along the way. Our program offers the tools and training to ensure all our graduates succeed, including onsite training sessions, virtual modules and group work assignments. We understand that this may be a daunting experience for a university leaver, therefore we pair each graduate with a buddy to help with a smooth transition into corporate life at Fujitsu. This buddy is a graduate who completed the program the previous year, able to provide insight into the day-to-day operations and help with any queries a graduate might have along the way. Additionally, we also match graduates with a mentor within the business who will offer support and insights to graduates as they begin their careers.
What roles are on offer? Graduates are key to our future and as such we are hiring across most of our core business areas, including opportunities within the following teams: finance, human resources, business systems, technical, sales, customer service management, consulting, sustainability, market intelligence, partnerships and alliances, business transformation, and our portfolio solutions.
Is this a rotational graduate program? Graduates are hired into the stream in which they apply and will rotate to different teams within that stream. There may however be opportunities for graduate secondment to work within other business areas.
Do I need a background in IT? You do not need an IT degree to apply. We hire across a range of educational backgrounds.
What is the application process like? Applications are now open and will close at the end of April. Once submitting your application you will be invited to do an online cognitive test and video interview. Following this, will be a phone screen then assessment centre. During the assessment centre, you will engage in team work activities and have an individual interview with your hiring manager.
What happens after the graduate program? At the conclusion of the graduate program, graduates will sit down with their managers and discuss a role in the business they would be interested in pursuing.

How do past Graduates describe the program? Take a read below…
Harry Shields – Project Coordinator, Defence (2016 Graduate alumni)
I finished the Graduate Program in 2016 and I can safely say it gave me invaluable exposure to multiple parts of the business that I would not have experienced otherwise. Access to executive staff, freedom to rotate through the sales department and other areas of the business has given me a strong foundation for my career. I have recently joined the Project Management team for the Federal Government. This change in career path was inspired by a 2 month rotation in Project Management during the graduate program – a direct example of what the graduate program offers and where it can take you!
Hara Duckstein – Graduate Lead, Talent and Capability (2013 Graduate alumni)
The Mentoring and Buddy Programs were the best parts of the Graduate Program. I got to develop an extensive support network from Senior Leaders to previous Grad Alumni. Many of these individuals still provide guidance and support to me today. Engagement and exposure across our customer portfolio was also fantastic – as a Graduate I was quickly deployed into a customer facing role, which was an exciting opportunity.
Jacinta Lee – Sales Operations Coordinator (2017 Graduate alumni)
Within a few months of starting, I traveled to New Zealand to attend an internal conference. I also had the opportunity to represent Fujitsu and the graduate program at various universities in Victoria. On a personal level, being able to connect with a graduate cohort who you could swap experiences with and get support from was invaluable to me.
Bree Vithal – Marketing Communications Coordinator (2017 Graduate alumni)
I’ve been lucky enough to travel interstate to attend one of our major events, work closely with our Senior Executive Leadership Team and work with our corporate charity partners, Camp Quality & Soldier On, attending some great events such as concerts and musicals with them – being able to make a difference to the community and meet people within the community who are touched by our organisation has been very humbling.
Billy Conditsis – 2018 Digital Graduate
In my previous work experience I was always hearing about Fujitsu winning large scale deals. This led me to research more about the company and in doing so I learnt about the amazing tech and innovation that existed here. Over the past year I’ve been a member of Fujitsu’s Co-creation and Innovation team, which has allowed me to work on a wide variety of projects, giving me exposure to many different technologies such as blockchain drones, AI and video analytics to name a few.
